Bringing The Indoors Out & The Outdoors In

Don’t you love it when you find fresh home decor inspiration? It can help keep your space feeling fresh and unique, while adding a touch of individuality. Whether you need a complete makeover or just a little touch-up, Tracy Musson Sitar from Portico Living can hook you up with a fresh look that will also make you feel good.

From day one Tracy had a purpose. She set out to make Portico Living all about bringing the indoors out, and the outdoors in.

“When people ask me to describe what types of products Portico carries, I tell them that we carry indoor and outdoor furniture, gardening items, unique home décor pieces, botanicals, giftware, artwork, water features and so on,” said Tracy. “But I also tell them that I have a strong focus on carrying products that are made from reclaimed, recycled, and sustainable materials whenever possible. Goods that benefit charitable causes and are Free Trade are also something near and dear to my heart.”

An example of a newly manufactured item made from recycled materials is the outdoor furniture line available exclusively at Portico Living. Whether at home or the cottage, the Portico philosophy is that you should have all the same creature comforts outdoors as you have indoors. Their exclusive selection of stylish Club Chairs, Adirondacks, Rockers, and Chair Hammocks are bar none – so you can kick back, relax and enjoy some well-deserved downtime. The high quality, durable (and gorgeous) line is made from recycled plastic milk jugs – performance and style all wrapped up into one.

Tracy is constantly trying to find ways to capture a connection to the outdoors. The artwork in the store features images of beautiful floral’s, birds, or water themes. The home decor pieces have often been made from re-purposed materials like a ship’s porthole made into a stylish oversized mirror or recycled glass made into one-of-a-kind vases. You’ll also find unique water features that not only provide the tranquil sounds of nature but are enhanced by backdrops of real stone and metals.

“Creating something new from something “used” makes it a truly unique piece, has special details and character, as well as there is a story behind it.” A great example of this is some furniture Portico carries made from reclaimed skateboards, wood tables and benches, along with one-of-a-kind cheese boards for the entertainer or gift giver.

“We hope our customers continue to embrace what we are doing and support our efforts of offering a specialty shopping and design destination,” said Tracy. “We work very hard at being a unique place in a vast retail landscape.”
